Statuesque

Had to shoot something on the first day of the year... So I worked on some studies of statues. Plan to shoot all the notable statues as a project. But for now here are 2 composites.

U Year!

What better way to end the year than focussing on Reflection...

(A collection created on an late afternoon, Boxing Day exploration along one of my favourite haunts, the Bridgetown Careenage)

Seasons Greetings. May your New Year be filled with Decisive Moments of Happiness and Sucess (and you have your camera along to capture them). Happy (Photo) Shooting in 2008.

Christmas Lights in Old San Juan

Old San Juan decorated for Christmas with lots of lights. Had my little pocket camera with me so tried to get a few shots. Not great. Some inevitable camera shake but you'll get a sense of some of the wonderful displays.

Really beautiful photos imparting the true Christmas spirit, Winston. So much for your 'little pocket camera' ....tell us what you used to take them. Thanks for sharing these lovely images with us Mon 3-Dec-2007 14:04

I think that you have a powerful technique here that gives you unlimited scope for creativity. Good job.

Having resolved that I have no idea as to the value of my photographs, I have decided to go for bulk... In other words shoot "nuff" in that lots must be better than little... Whatever!

Great shot of Bridgetown by night Winston. I am going to try for a similar effect this week end.

The Pride of Barbados, the national flower; darned difficult to photograph. I tried.

Quite an industrious effort. Were you on Manual focus?

Yes, Victor. As these flowers are extra "frisky", auto-focus never locks. So the technique is manual focus, wait for a lull in the breeze and, if you can, out of frame, hold the branch. But still lots of challenges in depth of field. - Winston Mon 5-Nov-2007 09:30
