Amidst Industrial Banality

If you drive along Spring Garden you'll see it, nestled between Workbench and the Boat Building place, a pond filled with white lilies. It has been tantalising me for a few weeks now and this Sunday I got there.

Of course, I didn't do it justice. Somehow the shots are a little soft, maybe because I was shooting against the light. Anyway it was FUN!

Since you are so reluctant to give yourself a pat on the back, I will do it at the next club meeting.

Only yesterday the wife and I were commenting on the lush flowering oasis between the factory buildings. Never mind the circumstances, the flowers in themselves are beautiful. I will resist the temptation to wax philosophical at this juncture.

Agree with Val...
'You believe spring garden?' is beautiful because of the leave veins

Moon over the Careenage

Moon over Careenage warehouses

Ansley, my good friend, is fixated on Moonrise on the East Coast. Me, I am convinced that there must be an opportunity to get the moon over the Careenage. Last night, Saturday, June 05, 2009, wasn't the night. The moon did not rise where I thought it would rise; maybe it never does come right down the Careenage waterway where I want it.

Anyway here are a few shots from last night (Time exposures 15 secs. at F9).

I just love that first shot. Glad to see more postings coming in! Mon 8-Jun-2009 03:00

Winston, I always thought that moon shots would be more dramatic in an urban setting rather than over a vast expanse. Call me the next time when you are shooting the moon.
Thanks for sharing these shots

Amid the Red Leaves I discovered a treasure trove of other growing things...

Mine not to reason why; mine just to shoot and share...

A red leaf starts a flurry of image making... Who knows where one will find something to entertain the brain.

I like you use of themes for shooting. Mon 18-May-2009 13:09

Careenage Redux

Hey. The return of the turtle to the heart of the city! Whereas Raymond's submerged turtle at Oistins seemed to be saying that part of the marine habitat was in danger of going under, this flippered friend seems to be saying "I am back and doing well"! Tue 5-May-2009 15:11

We went to River Bay.
Sort of gray blustery day...
Then on to Bridgetown
In search of "Urban Life" profound.
Here then - A little of that... A little of this...
Things the camera couldn't resist.

I like your fish eye view Tue 28-Apr-2009 17:15

Your fish eye view is neet. Our chance rendezvous in the city Sunday morning was a bit early to find much "urban life". Good architectural study however. Wed 29-Apr-2009 12:33

Interesting collection of old stuff. I hav always been fascinated by the Worthing old house. It does not seem to have a National Trust emblem on it however. Tue 14-Apr-2009 16:09
